Power to the People

One of the visions I have for this blog is to empower everyday citizens to get involved. On the state and local level, we have so much more influence than we think, we just need to get out there. It can be difficult to know where to begin. One of the things I enjoy about the legislative session is all the citizen lobby trainings out there to familiarize everyday folks with the process and give them a place to start.

The latest City Weekly has a how-to article about this very topic.

And for those who can make it, there’s a training this evening:

Equality Utah Citizen Lobbyist Training
Tonight – January 13th
6 pm to 7:30 pm
Utah State Capitol Auditorium, East Building

  2. I agree — this is a very creative way to get people involved and hopefully get better people to run than we usually have!
